Support Local People and have a voice

Become a Member

Receive updates, take part in eligible votes and support a new initiative, with no requirement to campaign, attend meetings or volunteer.

Why become a member?

Support a new initiative and have a voice as it grows.

Not everyone has the time, health, energy or confidence to campaign or attend meetings. Membership lets people support Local People, receive relevant updates and vote in eligible decisions.

You can remain a member without volunteering, donating beyond the membership contribution or becoming publicly involved.

No active involvement is required.

Membership should fit around your life. You decide whether to hear about optional volunteering, events or other ways to help.

The role, defined simply

Support, stay informed and vote when eligible.

A member supports the aims and rules of Local People and belongs to a verified local area. Membership is not employment, public office or a requirement to campaign.

Your level of involvement

Membership only is a complete and valid choice.

Some members will attend meetings or volunteer. Others will simply pay the monthly contribution, read occasional updates and vote. Neither is treated as a better class of member.

The form will ask one simple question.

Would you like to hear about optional ways to help? Choose Yes, Maybe later, or No, membership only.

Why join Local People?
